When you first arrive, no analytics scripts and no advertising pixels are requested. You are asked once, and the answer is remembered on your device.

If you decline, or simply ignore the notice, nothing third-party is loaded at all. Declining does not limit anything on this site — every article, guide and form works identically either way.

Only your answer itself, saved in your browser's local storage so you are not asked again on every page. It is not a cookie sent to a server, it contains nothing about you, and it never leaves your device.

One other item may be stored during your visit: a note that you closed the WhatsApp shortcut, so it stays closed. It is cleared when you close your browser.

Google Analytics 4, which measures which pages are read, how far down people scroll, and which links are clicked. This is used in aggregate to decide what is worth writing more of. It sets its own cookies and processes data under Google's terms.

A Meta advertising pixel, which measures whether advertising is reaching people who find the content useful. It sets its own cookies and processes data under Meta's terms.

Neither is used to identify you personally on this site, and neither is necessary for anything on the site to work.

There is a “Cookie preferences” control in the footer of every page. Selecting it clears your stored answer and shows the notice again, so you can choose differently.

You can also clear cookies and site data for this website in your browser settings, which has the same effect.

Submitting an enquiry, a newsletter signup or a checklist request sends the details you typed so I can reply to you. That is the purpose of the form rather than tracking, and it happens whatever your cookie choice is — because you actively chose to submit it.
